If at all you are Uday Chopra (Proper Noun for Vella) and you have a compiled list of the best sitcom. Tt just cannot have the stellar show Sarabhai vS Sarabhai.
How can one forget the histrionics that the ensemble cast so effortlessly carried out?
This show was a breath of fresh air amongst the stinking putrefaction of daily soaps.
Probably the only moment in the history of Indian television where people were dejected that a show ended.
Actually the Indian audience hoped that the makers would revive the show and revive the enthusiasm that they had towards the show.
Why is Sarabhai vs Sarabhai So Awesome
How much ever you watch the show, again and again, you will never get bored. The re-runs are equally freshening and can guarantee a mood lift if you are feeling low.
What we made the show so awesome! Here are the wonder points which make Sarabhai vs Sarabhai show awesome
#1. Indravadan’s Pranky Nature
Be it sinisterly pouring milk on Roshesh’s head OR trapping Sahil OR mocking the shit out of Maya, Indu’s mischievous nature had a streak of allure which made us all chuckle. Satish Shah is a powerhouse of talent no doubt.
#2. Monisha’s Cheapness
90% sale! Ek Bhindi pe Ek Bhindi free! Shirt faadke poche ka kapda banaya! Buffet ka khana pack Kiya! These come from the freeloading mouth of the lovable Monisha Sarabhai. In every aspect, this lass tried to optimize and implement cost-cutting.
#3. Sahil’s Demeanor
If the show ever lopsided inclination towards immaturity, Sahil Sarabhai to the rescue. Prominently he is shown in a mature state of body and mind, but his character does have shades of humor and Boy! Did Sumit Raghavan impress us with his comic timing!
#4. Madhusudan Fufa’s Hearing Problem
‘haaaaaaeeen!’ Similar to the Shehenshah Bachchan’s iconic ‘Haaain’ but makes you laugh to the fullest! This character was like the crunchy pleasant chocolate chip in ice cream. You always wait for that and when it arrives, delight arrives with it. Madhu fufa’s and Indravadan’s chemistry was one crackling sequence which induced bouts of guffawing.
#5. Maya’s Sophistication
With the background score of ‘Ohhh myy myyy myy’ started a string of sophisticated techniques to live life non-middle-class way and bad-mouthing Monisha to the fullest. Ratna Pathak Shah is a warehouse of solid talent and her rendition of Maya Sarabhai was perfect. Her undying support for Roshesh when the entire world was against him gave her egoistic snobbish character a motherly touch which was a pleasant break.
#6. Dushyant’s Technical Knowledge
Dushyant was one of my favorites in the show hands down! Deven Bhojani was fantastic as the tech-obsessed Dushyant. His contextually irrelevant gadget repair session added so much fun to the scene. Be it Roshesh’s kidnapping OR the Fridge repairing episode, he just escalated the comic quotient of the show.
#7. Roshesh’s Poems
How can this list possibly conclude without THE Roshesh Sarabhai? Take a bow, Rajesh Kumar. This momma’s boy with his grotesque voice, balderdash poems and his affection for Maya and being the victim to Indu’s pranks was an instant favorite amongst the public.
*phew* Whatever you say about the characters, is less only! If the makers ever read this post, please note that a sequel shall be the nicest move to balance the current stale crap floating on our television screens. Watch it here .
Till Next Time,
